
Homecoming Week 2001 at Fresno State begins with a staff breakfast Sept. 24 and culminates with the Alumni Association Tailgate Sept. 29 prior to the Bulldogs football game versus the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.
This year's theme is "Battle for the Bone" as the two university's canine mascots come face-to-face. A weeklong schedule of events include door decoration and banner contests, a bone toss and the traditional pep rally, which will be Friday Sept. 23 at the old softball diamond.
Stacia Hodges, a former guest choreographer for the NFL's Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders and member of the 1996 Long Beach State national champion dance team, was appointed coach of the Fresno State's Spirit Program.
Hodges will supervise the 24-member cheer and dance team, which also includes the Bulldog mascot, Time Out. She owns Virgo Dance Studio in Fresno and was also a head instructor for the U.S. Spiritleaders Cheer and Dance Corps in Long Beach.
