PR pros converge on Fresno State


Some of the state's premier public relations professionals will be speaking at Fresno State's first ever PR Day on Friday, Oct. 19.

The daylong event is sponsored by the Central California Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, the Mass Communication and Journalism Department, and the campus chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America.

Other professionals from the area will be leading afternoon workshops about the Internet, a grammar tune-up, special events and multicultural PR.

The day caps off at 4 p.m. with the presentation of Fresno State Public Relations Alumni of the Year, awarded in the Smittcamp Alumni House.

Registration will be 8:30 to 9 a.m.

Speakers and workshops will be in the University Student Union, 3rd floor. A luncheon will be hosted in the Residence Dining Hall. Parking will be available.

Costs are as follows:

PRSSA members are free all day.

Nonmembers may attend the morning and afternoon sessions for free but must pay $15 for lunch.
