Provost's Awards nominations sought


Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs J. Michael Ortiz is seeking nominations of full-time tenured/tenure track faculty for the following 2002-03 Provost's Awards:

Excellence in Teaching: Overall exceptional performance in the classroom that generates student enthusiasm and increases knowledge and awareness of the subject matter.

Technology in Education: Effective and innovative use of technologies as tools in the teaching/learning process such as Web-related instruction, interactive audio video and new computer applications.

Graduate Teaching and Mentoring: Excellence in graduate level teaching, with particular emphasis on the special mentoring that results in the exemplary professional development and scholarly achievement of graduate students.

Faculty Service: Outstanding service to the university community and the community at large.

Distinguished Achievement in Research, Scholarship or Creative Activities: This award is designed to honor recognized faculty achievements in any of the three areas of pursuit.

Nomination packets are available in the Office of the Provost, Thomas Administration Room 110 or online at http://academicaffairs.csufresno.edu/announcements.htm. Nominations are due in to the Office of the Provost by Feb. 28.
