Brown Bag Book Club resumes Sept. 16
In celebration of its new recommended reading list, the Madden
Library is sponsoring University Brown Bag Book Club discussions.
Professors from various disciplines
take turns facilitating discussion. Students, faculty, staff and Friends
of the Madden Library are invited to bring their lunches and participate.
All discussions are held on Tuesdays in Library Conference Room
1209 (first floor, south).
The programs are:
- Sept. 16, noon, Edward EmanuEl (Theatre Arts): “Antigone” by
Sophocles.
- Oct. 14, 1 p.m., Helda Pinzon-Perez (Health Science): “Principles
of Behavior Modification,” by Albert Bandura.
- Nov. 11, 1 p.m., Todd Wilson (Computer Science): “Godel,
Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid,” by Douglas R. Hofstadter.
- Dec. 2, 1 p.m., Jacques Benninga (Literacy and Early Education): “Greater
Expectations: Children Reading Writing,” Eve Bearne (ed.).
