Faculty lead travel programs
The International Programs Office offers many opportunities for
students to travel abroad and learn about another culture while earning
academic
credit. Among the options for students are short-term travel study
programs organized by campus faculty. These programs, while primarily
designed for students, also attract members of the community who
appreciate the academic focus.
Dr. Yaw Oheneba-Sakyi, professor and chair of Africana and American
Indian Studies, has organized "African Civilization Revisited
Study Tour of Egypt," scheduled for Dec. 26, 2003 – Jan.
6, 2004. He will host a preview of the program on Thursday, Sept. 4
at 5:30 p.m. in Education Building, room 140.
Dr. Ruth Masters and Dr. Les Pincu will escort "Administration
of Justice and Culture in Guatemala City, Guatemala" from Jan.
5 - 12, 2004. In recent years these two Criminology experts have organized
travel programs to France, Belgium, Turkey, China, the Czech Republic
and Peru.
Information on short-term travel study programs is available from
the International Programs Office, Family and Food Science, room
111, phone
