New appointments announcedUniversity officials have announced a number of new appointments for the fall 2003 semester. In the Division of Academic Affairs, Dr. Jeronima Echeverria has been appointed interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Ken Shipley is the new associate provost. New department chairs this year are: Dr. Pedro Amaral (Philosophy), Dr. Karen Carey (Psychology), Dr. Michelle Den Beste (History), Dr. William Fasse (Child, Family and Consumer Sciences), Dr. Judith Neal (Literacy and Early Education), Dr. Ramakrishna Nunna (Munger Chair, Electrical and Computer Engineering), Dr. Michael Russler (Nursing), Dr. Donald Wise (Educational Research and Administration). Among the interim appointments in Academic Affairs are: Dr. Dennis Nef, interim Dean of Undergraduate Studies; Dr. Berta Gonzalez, interim Assistant Vice President of Global and Continuing Education; Dr. William Fasse, interim Associate Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology; Dr. Harvey Wallace, interim Associate Dean of the College of Social Sciences; Dr. George DeGraffenreid, interim Director of the Solutions Center; Ashley Swearengin, interim Director of the Office of Community and Economic Development (formerly the Futures Institute). In the Division of Student Affairs, Dr. Carolyn Coon, has been named interim Executive Director of Student Life. |
