Campus now has designated smoking areas

As of July 1, 2003, Fresno State is a “smoke-free” campus with designated smoking areas.

The time between July and October is intended to give all members of the campus community an opportunity to become familiar with the location of the designated areas. Although full enforcement does not begin until this fall, smokers are encouraged to begin using the designated areas now. If you need to know where the area is that is closest to your building, please review the policy on the Human Resources Web site.

For information on smoking cessation programs:

  • Visit the Health Resources section on the Employee Assistance Web site.
  • Call University Health & Psychological Services at 8-6735 for information and pharmaceutical aids.
  • Call the California Smokers' Helpline at 800-662-8887 for materials on how to quit, individual counseling and information on local cessation groups.

For more information, contact the office of Human Resources at 8-2364.
