Student film festival Oct. 28 focuses on women The event will be begin at 7 p.m. in University Center, room 200. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 general. Lunafest 2003 is a national festival of films that provides national exposure for emerging women filmmakers and supports an important cause for women today by donating proceeds from the festival to The Breast Cancer Fund (www.breastcancerfund.org). Now in its third year, Lunafest comes to Fresno for the first time this fall, and will travel to more than 25 other locations. Since it was launched in 2001, it has raised more than $25,500. Lunafest presents films in a variety of genres and has features works as diverse as documentaries and animated shorts to dance narratives. Films embody a wide range of topics and include issues such as women’s health, sexuality, spirituality, cultural diversity, body image and the environment.
