Grad Studies issues call for fellowshipsThe Division of Graduate Studies has issued a special call for proposals for two fellowship programs. Applications for all of these fellowships are available at www.csufresno.edu/gradstudies/ and then click on Financial Aid. The fellowships are: Robert and Norma Craig Fellowship provides up to $1,000. Application deadline is Oct. 3. This fellowship is designed to provide benefits to both graduate students and faculty by providing student stipends for students to engage in mentored activities and faculty assistance such as instructional support, graduate program development, special projects and research. The California Graduate Equity Fellowship program provides up to $2,250 for spring 2004. The application deadline is Nov. 7. This program seeks to increase the diversity of students completing graduate degree programs in the CSU and encourages continuation on to doctoral programs and consideration of university faculty careers. It provides fellowships for economically disadvantage graduate students, especially from groups that are underrepresented among graduate degree recipients in their areas of study, and promotes faculty mentoring and research opportunities. Also available is the Graduate Student Research Merit Award. The deadline is Oct. 24. These newly increased $750 awards are provided for meritorious graduate student research proposals associated with the thesis/project/dissertation requirement. Students must be Advanced to Candidacy and currently enrolled in thesis/dissertation 299 or project 298.
