Segway inventor to speak

The Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Fresno State will present Dean Kamen, inventor of the Segway, at its inaugural "Innovation Series" on Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. at the Tower Theatre.

Kamen will discuss the process of innovation, the challenges of bringing technology to the market place, and will demonstrate the use of the Segway.

In addition, the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization will be selling tickets for a drawing to win a new Segway. Funds from the drawing will be used to support student travel to the national Collegiate Entrepreneurs Conference to be held in Chicago in November. Admission to the presentation by Dean Kamen is $15 and tickets for the Segway drawing are $10. For more information, call the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at 294-2045. You can view a Segway in action at www.segway.com.
