PSL office transitions

The Save Mart Center at Fresno State saw significant transitions at the end of last month: closure of the Arena Builder Seating and Personal Seat Licenses office and the retirement of Senior Development Consultant Jerry Tarkanian.

The Arena Builder and PSL office closed effective Sept. 30. The office was the headquarters for the highly successful campaign to sell premium seating and 10-year seat license reservations. The PSL and seat reservations functions were transferred to the Fresno State Athletics Department.

Tarkanian is retiring effective Oct. 4 from the consultant position, which he has held since March 2002. Beginning Nov. 1, he will begin a position at Clear Channel Communications, working with MaryLou Gunn and Jeff Negrete. His varied responsibilities will include hosting a basketball-related radio program.

“I’m happy to have helped my alma mater generate support for the Save Mart Center,” said Tarkanian, a 1955 Fresno State graduate. “I’m looking forward to the Grand Opening events.”

Dr. Peter N. Smits, vice president for University Advancement, said Tarkanian “made a valuable contribution to the Save Mart Center – from start to finish.”
