CSECC Charitable CampaignThe California State Employees Charitable Campaign (CSECC) is under way and will continue through Nov. 14, 2003. The CSECC is held each year to provide all State of California employees an opportunity to give to charitable and the not-for-profit organizations that provide a helping hand to those in need. The CSECC campaign is the only fund-raising campaign authorized for State of California employees and is coordinated by the local United Way of Fresno County. Among its many contributions to the community, the United Way helps raise financial support and good will for deserving nonprofit organizations, manages an accountability review process of nonprofit organizations, and helps coordinate and enhance the efforts of the nonprofit sector for maximum impact on the most needed community building outcomes. Last year, Fresno State employees raised nearly $31,400 for the campaign. The goal this year is to increase campaign contributions by 5%. University employees are encouraged to attend a fun-filled campaign rally to be held on Red Friday, Nov. 7, in the University Student Union Pavilion. The two-hour program will begin at 8:30 a.m. and is sponsored by Athletics and Friends. The program will include special speakers, performance by the Bulldog Beat Elite, a friendly visit with Time-Out and great raffle prizes. Please visit our campaign web site at http://csufresno.edu/csecc. For information, contact Eddie G. Varela at 8-2032. |
