Air Quality Action Day Nov. 4

Hundreds of Fresno State students, faculty and staff are expected to attend the lunch-time exhibition and look under the hood of hybrid automobiles, and learn more about ways our campus community can take action, individually and collectively at Air Quality Action Day Exposition and Forum on Nov. 4 in the Satellite Student Union.

Interactive exhibits will be displayed from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and a forum and panel discussion will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.

Representatives from the San Joaquin Air Resources Board and Fresno State faculty who are involved in air quality research will be on hand to answer questions and explain current issues in regional air quality.  Fresno State faculty and staff will be on hand to discuss cutting-edge research solutions, including biofuel and solar technologies.   Participants will learn about how on-line courses now offered through Digital Campus can improve our region's air quality.

Fresno State Commuter Services will feature the release of the new on-line interactive regional ride-sharing program,  Valleyrides .com.   Fresno Area Express and Clovis Stageline will highlight schedule and public transit options to campus.  Central California Children's Institute researchers will be on hand to discuss latest research available on the growing epidemic of children's asthma.

Attendees can enter a drawing for bicycles, exercise gear and more.
