Associate deans namedInterim Provost Jeri Echeverria has announced the appointment of three new associate deans. Dr. Curt Guaglianone has been named permanent associate dean in the Kremen School of Education and Human Development, Dr. Garo Kalfayan , interim in the Craig School of Business; and Harvey Wallace, interim in the College of Social Sciences. Guaglionone began his career as a high school teacher and counselor. After several years of teaching and the completion of his Master of Arts in Counseling, he became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and worked full time in private practice. His administrative career includes executive director of a counseling
center, high school counselor, high school assistant principal, elementary
school principal and district He has been at Fresno State since 1996 and has served as program coordinator of the Education Administration program, NCATE Accreditation Chair, served on numerous committees in the KSOEHD and the University Dual Admission Program. Kalfayan has been a member of the Accountancy faculty for the past 16 years. Degrees conferred include the Master of Law (LL.M. Taxation) from the University of Florida , Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law, and the B.S. with an accounting emphasis from UC Berkeley. In addition, he holds the C.P.A. and Real Estate Brokers License. With Bulldog Athletics, Professor Kalfayan has interviewed recruits for football, tennis, and volleyball programs. Recent scholarly activities include publications in The CPA Journal, and in The Tax Advisor, as well as the fourth edition of Mastering Depreciation, a co-authored textbook. Prior to joining the Craig School, Professor Kalfayan was an attorney with the law firm of Thomas, Snell, Jamison et al, senior accountant for Ernst & Whinney in Fresno, and staff accountant for Deloitte, Haskins & Sells international CPA firm in San Francisco. Wallace has been a faculty member in the Department of Criminology since 1992. He holds a Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law, an MPA from Golden Gate University and a BS in Criminology from Fresno State. He served as special assistant to the Provost and Vice President
for Academic Affairs Wallace is considered a subject matter expert by the U.S. Department
of Justice in Family Violence and Victimology . He is the author or
co-author of nine college texts, has published in a number of scholarly
journals, and is licensed to practice law in the State |
