Brent Auernheimer
(Computer Science,
interim director of Digital Campus) co-authored a paper “Indicators
of Effective Collaboration in Distributed Virtual Teamwork," which
was awarded an E-Learn 2003 Outstanding Paper Award at the E-Learn conference
in November. Only eight of 700 paper submissions will receive the award
this year. The paper was based on two simultaneous on-line graduate computer
science classes, one class at the University of Hawaii and one at Fresno
State. The students used WebCT and Blackboard to work together on-line.
The other authors are Rita M. Vick, Martha E. Crosby and Marie K. Iding,
University of Hawaii; and Joan Nordbotten, University of Bergen, Norway.
