‘Declare Yourself' Campaign

'Declare Yourself' Campaign

Declare Yourself, a national nonpartisan, nonprofit young voter empowerment campaign will visit Fresno State University on February 24 from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Memorial Garden to energize students to register and to vote in the 2004 election.

Declare Yourself will rally students through a live spoken word and music show, featuring four of the nation's top spoken word artists and focusing on messages about activism, voting, democracy and empowerment of a new generation. The one-day tour stop also will include on-site voter registration, free gift bags and a chance to enter a special Yahoo! contest.

Also part of the tour is an original copy of the Declaration of Independence, printed on the night of July 4, 1776 , which Declare Yourself is using as a galvanizing symbol to inspire young voters to participate in their future.
