Find a carpool partnerFresno State and the Council of Fresno County Governments have joined forces to help Valley residents find rideshare buddies through their user-friendly Web site www.valleyrides.com. The Web-based matching system provides Valley residents with a way to find someone who is seeking a carpool partner, lives with in one or two miles and shares a similar schedule. Faculty, staff and students can reap the benefits of sharing a ride to the university through alternate transportation programs offered by the university. Since 1995 full-time faculty and staff who carpool have been offered incentives in the form of Scrip and free bus passes. Scrip can be redeemed at several locations on campus, such as the Kennel Bookstore, CVIP, the Farm Market, the Bulldog Shop, Pro Hair and Nails and most on-campus restaurants. Students who are registered carpoolers will get access to carpool spaces in the green area of lot E, which is just south of the Madden Library, between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. After that time students with a green pass will be permitted to park in this area. Faculty and staff members can sign up for the Alternate Transportation Program by contacting commuterservices@csufresno.edu or calling 278-2277(CARS). Students must fill out a Student Rideshare Registration form and return it to the Parking/Police Office located in the USU Pavilion. |
