Services held for Raymon Newton

Funeral services were held for Raymon Newton, former transcript technician in the office of Admissions, Records and Evaluations (ARE) in Enrollment Services who died on Feb. 22.

Mr. Newton was hired in 1981 and retired in 2001.  Prior to his employment here, he worked for CSU Fullerton.  When Mr. Newton retired in 2001, he was recognized by his colleagues and friends for his dedicated service to students, particularly those needing emergency assistance with transcripts for scholarships, graduate school and other endeavors.  He was also recognized for his nearly perfect attendance, dedication to service and his goodwill and kindness to coworkers.

He had a lifelong interest in music and played for several local churches.  Since retiring, he tutored music students and had resumed his college studies.  Mr. Newton maintained contact with the university, his coworkers and friends, and participated in campuswide events such as the annual Staff Awards Luncheon.

Condolences may be sent to the family at 4860 E. Lane Street, Apt 232 , Fresno , 93727.
