Budget summit

On Feb. 12, President Welty convened a Budget Summit to discuss how the university might go about dealing with the potential reductions in our funding.

Invited were the president's Cabinet, the Senate Executive Committee, Senate Chairs, the University Budget Committee, the Joint Labor Council, School and College Deans, Department Chairs, the Provost's Management Team, the Executive Leadership of Student Affairs, Administrative Services and University Advancement, the Student Leadership Group, Staff Assembly Executive Committee and representatives from the Alumni Association.

The previously announced budget reduction plans were submitted to Dr. Welty on Feb. 27 by the Vice Presidents and Deans.

During the month of March, the proposed plans will be reviewed with the University Budget Committee.  The president will make an announcement to the campus on the budget plan for 2004-05 in April.
