Community Service Scholarship Program
Since 1990, Fresno State has been home to one of the most innovative and productive community service programs in the nation.   The Community Service Scholarship (CSS) program, developed by Student Affairs, has engaged over 800 students in in-depth, career related service experiences with local nonprofits.   CSS students have contributed over 145,000 hours of service and earned nearly $1 Million in program scholarships, all while helping to address some of the region’s most pressing social issues. more

Spring break survey: students stay close to home
The stereotypical spring break – a week of wild partying in Cancun – is not the reality of most Fresno State students, according to a recent survey.   The majority of Fresno State students will use the week to relax, socialize, and travel in California . Most plan to consume alcohol once, twice, or not at all. more

Winemaster’s Weekend
The third annual “Fresno State Winemaster’s Weekend” held at the Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite March 5 and 6 treated connoisseurs from throughout the state to several delights. more

Niigata University visit
The year long planning efforts of Dr. Marilyn Miller and Dr. Akiteru Takagi became a reality March 13-15.2004, when Takagi, Dean Kurokawa, Mr Koneshi and 11 physical therapy students from Niigata University for Health and Welfare in Japan came to Fresno. more

E-mail zone in Pavilion
Along with eating, bowling and studying, Fresno State students can now check e-mails at the University Student Union, thanks to the new CVIP Zone in the Pavilion where four computers have been installed. The e-mail station is located in the lounge area of the Pavilion between the recreation center and the food court in the lower level of the USU. more

Campus tribute given to American submariners
Dr. Paul Oliaro , vice president and dean of students, welcomed more than 100 submarine veterans and guests at a tribute to American submariners during a ceremony March 20 on the Maple Mall at Fresno State. more

Ephraim Smith honored
Bruce Owdom, left, of the Fresno Historical Society, presents a framed photo of the Old Administration Building at Fresno City College to Dr. Ephraim Smith in recognition of the Fresno State history professor’s effort to save the building from being torn down. more

Staff Assembly luncheon
The Fresno State Staff Assembly took employees on a dancin’ fool ride into the past with “Disco Fever”-- the theme of its 38th Annual Staff Awards Luncheon on March 29 in the Satellite Student Union. more
