Wines win awards
Fresno State student-produced wines have again won international acclaim – including four gold medals, three best of class, and two best of variety – all from grapes grown in the San Joaquin Valley.  Leading the vintage awards are several new releases. more

Mediator Appreciation Day More than 200 elementary and middle school children from Fresno and surrounding communities who have been trained by Fresno State faculty and students to be mediators of conflicts arising in their schools will visit Fresno State on April 1. more

New Chicano Alumni scholarship
The Fresno State Chicano Alumni Chapter has established the Cesar E. Chavez a nd Dolores Huerta Scholarship Fund. The fund will honor and recognize the legacy of the two leaders whose founding of the United Farm Workers union had a profound impact on the Chicano Movement, according to Eddie Varela, vice president of Chicano Alumni. more

University High School has received 129 applications from students seeking to enter as freshmen and 8 from students wishing to transfer into the sophomore year. more

Law enforcement veteran Jim Lusk has joined the University Police Department in an interim position as lieutenant. more

Faculty/Staff Waiver of Fees and Transfer of Represented or Non-Represented Employee Fee Waiver To Spouse, Domestic Partner or Dependent Child* are due in Employment Services by May 17, 2004. more

New grant awards
The University Grants and Research Office announced nine new grants awards received Feb. 29-March 4, totaling $616,304. more

Vintage Days breakfast
The Staff Assembly Breakfast will kick off Vintage Days 2004 on Thursday, April 15, from 6 to 10 a.m. in the Free Speech Area at Fresno State. more

Faculty Emeriti Luncheon
The annual Emeriti Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 5, in the Residence Dining Facility. more

Storytelling Olympics
Students from ages seven to seventeen will travel to Fresno and Hanford from as far as North Carolina , Florida , Ohio , and other states to showcase at the National Youth Storytelling Olympics on April 2 and 3 at 7 p.m. more
