University picnic
"It's a Pirates Life for Me!" is the theme of the University picnic
on Thursday, May 27. The picnic will feature barbecue tri-tip, chicken
and more. Contests include: Office Pirate Hat contest, Pirate's Cove
smoothie contest, Peg Leg Race, jug toss, volleyball and horseshoes.

President Welty has approved a summer work schedule to be effective
Monday, May 24, through Friday, August 13, 2004 . The university's workday

Robert Gustafson dies
The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences is sad to announce
that Robert Henry "Gus" Gustafson passed away peacefully surrounded
by family on Monday, April 12, in Flagstaff, AZ. At the time, he and
his wife Jackie were taking what he referred to as his "farewell
to the Grand Canyon tour." He was 77 years old. more

Fee waiver deadlines
Staff and faculty who plan to use their Fee Waiver benefits for
the Fall 2004 semester must submit their Fee Waiver Application to Employment
Services by May 17, 2004, in order avoid a delay in processing or overpayment
of fees. All registration fees must be paid to the Cashier's Office
in Joyal Administrative Building by July 30, 2004 at 3:30 p.m. Contact
