Emeriti Luncheon Honors 27Twenty-five faculty members, one administrator and one counselor at California State University, Fresno were honored at the 31st Annual Faculty Emeriti Luncheon in May hosted by President John D. Welty and Provost Jeri Echeverria. The newly-conferred emeriti represent approximately 800 years of combined teaching and service to the university. Echeverria thanked the faculty for their efforts and expertise in educating students: “We salute you and appreciate all you have done.” Welty also praised the faculty for their contributions to the growth of the university and said that despite challenging budget times, Fresno State is making plans for improving facilities and programs. They include the Science II building now under construction; construction of a Downing Planetarium Museum and an $18 million technology infrastructure project to begin later this year; and a new library addition that will be completed in 2008, tripling the size of the current building.
