Faculty tenure, promotion

Twenty-one faculty members at Fresno State have earned tenure and/or promotions, effective Aug. 17, 2004, Provost Jeronima Echeverria announced.

“This is an outstanding group of faculty,” said Echeverria. “They represent a bright future for the university.”

Tenured faculty promoted to professor: Ramakrishna Nunna, electrical and computer engineering; John Pryor, anthropology; Mark Somma, political science; Ronald Unruh, educational research, administration and foundations; Marilyn Wilson, psychology.

Promoted to student services professional-academically related III: Bruce McCallister, Health and Psychological Services.

Reappointed with tenure and appointed to professor: Kenn Kirsey, nursing.

Reappointed with tenure and promoted to associate professor: Sharon Benes, plant science; Robin Chiero, curriculum and instruction; Matthew Darling, music; Kathleen Godfrey, English; Raymond Hall, physics; Anna Hamre, music; Jody Hironaka, recreation administration & leisure studies; Marianne Jones, child, family and consumer sciences; Loretta Kersinger, women's studies; Christopher Lucey, counseling, special education & rehabilitation; Carlos Perez, Chicano & Latin American studies; Helda Pinzon-Perez, health science; Kathleen Reid, child, family and consumer sciences; Steven Skelton, communicative sciences and disorders.

Library faculty reappointed with tenure and promoted to associate librarian: Vang Vang, reference services.
