Lunafest returns Oct. 29

Lunafest, an evening of student films by, for and about women, will return to Fresno State on Oct. 29, with proceeds to benefit The Breast Cancer Fund and the Fresno State Women’s Resource Center.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the Satellite Student Union. Advance tickets are $8 for students and $10 general. Tickets at the door will be $10 for students and $12 general.

Lunafest 2004 is a national festival of films that provides national exposure for emerging women filmmakers and supports an important cause for women today by donating proceeds from the festival to The Breast Cancer Fund ( www.breastcancerfund.org).

Now in its fourth year nationally, Lunafest is coming to Fresno for a second time and will travel to more than 60 other locations.

Lunafest presents films in a variety of genres and features works as diverse as documentaries and animated shorts to dance narratives. The films embody a wide range of topics and include issues such as women’s health, sexuality, spirituality, cultural diversity, body image and the environment. For a summary of the seven short films for 2004, see www.lunabar.com/lunafest and click on “2004 films.”

Lunafest is sponsored by Lunabar. The event’s primary co-sponsor is the Women’s Resource Center at Fresno State. The USU also is a sponsor.

For advance tickets, call the Student Union Box Office at 8-2078. To make a donation call 278-4435 or 261-2423.
