Manager of general accounting
Toni Armendariz has been appointed Manager of General Accounting. She will replace Dennis Livezey upon his retirement. more

Conversion downtime
The university is planning for conversion of PeopleSoft Financials from version 7.6 to 8.4 between Nov. 18 and Nov. 30. During this period the system will be available for reporting only; transaction processing of production data will not be possible. more

Director of accounting
Chris Robinson has been appointed Director of Accounting Services.  He will be replacing Bob Vega who is retiring at the end of October. more

International Programs seek faculty
The CSU Office of International Programs seeks qualified faculty to serve as resident directors for AY 2006-2007 in the People's Republic of China, France, Mexico, Spain and Japan. more

Research Merit Award
The application deadline for the Graduate Student Research Merit Award is Oct. 22. Applications are available in the Division of Graduate Studies, Thomas Administration Building, room 132. more

Open enrollment deadline

Fulbright opportunities
The Fulbright Scholar Program is offering lecturing and research awards in about 140 countries for the 2005-2006 academic year. more

Alcohol Awareness Week
National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week will be recognized at Fresno State Oct.   11-15 with several activities around the theme “Fresno State Students Stay Safe When They Party.” more

CAMP grant renewed
The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) has been re-funded for another five-year cycle (2004-2009) by the U.S. Department of Education through the Office of Migrant Education. more

Softball ‘Interaction’
Faculty and staff are invited to meet the softball team at its third annual “Interaction Night” on Oct. 14 from 6-8:30 p.m. on the Bulldog Diamond. Confirmations are requested by Oct.11 and can be made by calling 8-4453.

AgOne Wine Tasting
Ag One will hold its 7 th annual Fresno-Madera Alumni and Friends Wine Tasting Social on Oct. 21 at the Fresno State Winery. more

National Depression screening day
University Health and Psychological Services will offer an opportunity to learn how to recognize the signs of depression and participation in a free screening as part of the National Depression Screening Day on Oct. 7. more

Faculty are asked to announce to students that the College of Arts and Humanities is accepting applications for the Spring 2005 London Semester. more

Holiday job fair
Career Services is sponsoring its Holiday Job Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 13, in the Free Speech Area in front of Carl’s Jr. from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Employers from local retail stores will be available to discuss part-time work opportunities and accept applications for the holiday season.

The Easy Spirit Freedom Walk for Scholarship America on Oct. 2 benefits California Dollars for Scholars on the California Fresno State campus. The honorary chair for the walk is Fresno State President Welty. more

Race for the Cure
David Arquette will serve as celebrity honorary chair at the 6th annual Susan G. Komen Fresno Race for the Cure on Oct. 23 held on the Fresno State campus. more

Welcoming Diversity workshop Oct. 2
The campus affiliate of the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) will hold a Prejudice Reduction Workshop on Oct. 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Renaissance Room (across from the Henry Madden Library). Faculty research fellowships available
The Central California Children’s Institute at California State University, Fresno is offering four $10,000 Faculty Fellowships beginning Jan. 1, 2005, to address the problem of child obesity in Central California as well as, four $10,000 fellowships to address healthy aging. more
