The Top Dog

The Fresno State Alumni Association has planned a full lineup of activities for Homecoming week.

On Wednesday, Oct. 27, there will be a Bulldog Walkway dedication ceremony at noon at the Save Mart Center.

Bulldog Walkway is a new, permanent, on-campus tribute to Fresno State alumni, graduates and friends. To include academics and athletes, Bulldog Walkway remembers the past and honors the present, three inaugural tiles honor the memory of these patriotic Bulldogs: Todd Beamer - Fresno State alumnus, who stated "Let’s Roll!" aboard Flight 93 on September 11, 2001; Lt. Cmdr. Otis Vincent Tolbert [1985] - who was stationed at The Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001; and Col. Rick Husband [1990] - who was commander of NASA’s Space Shuttle Columbia, which disintegrated with her crew upon re-entering the Earth’s atmosphere on Feb. 1, 2002. Additional personalized, commemorative tiles are available for purchase at $250, $500 and $1,000 levels.

Future plans include extending Bulldog Walkway to the Smittcamp Alumni House and throughout the campus. Please join the Fresno State Alumni Association and friends at this special dedication ceremony honoring our Fresno State Bulldogs.

On Thursday, Oct. 28, the 54 th Annual Top Dog Awards Gala will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Save Mart Center.

Join Fresno State Bulldogs, alumni, friends and students in celebrating and honoring this year’s Top Dog Alumni Award and student scholarship recipients. The campus’ most-prestigious event includes a no-host reception, gourmet dinner and awards presentations.

The event includes complimentary parking and is black-tie optional. Tickets are priced at $85 per person or $850 for a table of 10, which includes seating for eight guests and two student scholarship recipients. Proceeds benefit the Fresno State Alumni Association’s Student Scholarship Endowment Fund.
