Women’s golf

As did the women's golf team, freshman golfer Laura Luethke made her collegiate debut at the Ptarmigan/Ram Classic last month and carded an outstanding performance.   With an eighth place finish for the first-year program overall, Luethke captured her first collegiate victory after finishing three strokes under at 213 (68-74-71) and two ahead of Colorado's Hannah Hoch.

Luethke was a premiere West Coast recruit prior to signing with Fresno State. She boasts a stellar pre-collegiate record that includes victories at the 2003 CIF Valley High School Championships, the 2003 Tournament of Champions and the San Joaquin Valley Junior.   The three-time Len Ross Fresno City champion was also named the 2003 Northern California Junior Golf Association Player of the Year.
