For the first time in school history, Fresno State has been selected to host the 2004-05 first and second round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship games, March 19 and 21, at the Save Mart Center. There will be eight teams competing in Fresno and all six games will be broadcast live on ESPN or ESPN2.

The other first-round host institutions include Connecticut, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas/Texas Tech (played in Dallas) and Washington.    Ticket information will be available on www.gobulldogs.com this December.

In addition to hosting the first and second rounds of the 2004-05 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, Fresno State also will host the NCAA Western Regionals for Cross Country on Nov. 13 and the NCAA Western Regionals for Wrestling on March 5.
