Career Mobile UnitFresno State 's Career Services Office will begin “cruising for careers” on campus with a new Enterprises Mobile Unit, unveiled in October. The unit, which was made possible by a $5,000 donation by Enterprise Rent-A-Car last year, is similar to a golf cart with drop down tables or a pushcart that will be taken to various parts of the campus throughout the year. Brett Todd, vice president of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Jackie Kennedy-Harris, Enterprise recruiting manager, were on hand for the presentation of the mobile unit to university officials led by Dr. Paul M. Oliaro, vice president for student affairs and dean of students at Fresno State. Career counselor Alicia Andrade-Owen said the mobile unit will take the services of the office – such as career decision-making, part time jobs, internships and campus recruiting – directly to students in high traffic areas on campus. "Not all students find their way to or have time to visit the Career Center" in the Joyal Administration Building, she said. The unit will carry the office's materials, flyers and possibly a wireless laptop to access job registration and job listing service on MonsterTrak, Owen said. For more information call 8-2381. |
