Mo Rocca is ULS speaker Nov. 30

Mo RoccaMo Rocca, former correspondent for Comedy Central's " The Daily Show with Jon Stewart ," current contributor to NBC's " Today" show and host of Bravo's " Things I Hate About You ," will be featured Tuesday, Nov. 30, in the University Lecture Series.

Known for his wacky, tongue-in-cheek news reports and hilarious commentary, Rocca will speak on "Behind the Scenes with America 's Funniest News Report" at 7:30 p.m. in the Satellite Student Union. A book signing will be held immediately after the program.

Rocca is the author of the newly released book "All the Presidents' Pets," described as a "satirical tour de force of investigative journalism that blows the lid off a long-held secret in Washington : the presidents' pets are more than just photo ops."

He also frequently provides his insight to CNN, Headline News and the Fox News Channel.

He earned a bachelor's degree from Harvard University and began his television career writing and producing "Wishbone," the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning PBS children's series. He later wrote and produced the children's series "Pepper Ann" and "The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss."

Indecision 2000, " The Daily Show 's" coverage of the 2000 presidential race, garnered a Peabody Award. Rocca is also regularly seen on VH1's " Best Week Ever" pop culture roundup and on the series " I Love the 70s ," " I Love the 80s" and " I Love the 90s ."

Advance tickets are available at the University Student Union Information Booth (559-278-2078). Advance prices are $10 general; $6 faculty/staff/alumni association, seniors and high school students; and $2 Fresno State and University High School students.

The University Lecture Series is sponsored by the Office of the Provost with cooperation from the University Student Union, Associated Students, Inc., KJWL and Piccadilly Inn Hotels.
