Mozart expertInternationally known musicologist and composer Philip Wilby spoke to a class at Fresno State during his visit to campus in November. Wilby was here for the Fresno Community Chorus’ American premier of Mozart’s “Mass in C Minor,” which he reconstructed. (Read the Fresno Bee review.) The reconstructed Mass was published by Novello and Co. this spring and premiered in England. The Fresno performance was the next unveiling. The 100-member chorus was joined by a 20-piece orchestra of professional musicians and four vocal soloists. For more information about the premier, see previous story. |
