Jumpstart fund-raisers
Barnes & Noble is sponsoring a one-day Book Fair on Sunday, Dec. 5, to support Jumpstart Fresno, which recruits and trains college students to work with preschool children from low-income backgrounds on building language and literacy, social and initiative skills.

Jumpstart Fresno delivers an innovative early learning program that focuses on the development of the child, his or her family, and the college student serving as an AmeriCorps member. Through extraordinary attention in yearlong, one-to-one relationships, Jumpstart inspires children to learn, adults to teach, families to get involved and communities to progress together. more

Civic engagement conference
With grant support from California Campus Compact (CACC) and Learn & Serve: Higher Education, Fresno State is helping provide students with the training and support necessary to make them more effective leaders in civic engagement and service efforts. As the Civic Engagement Regional Center for Central California, Fresno State is continuing our leadership role in addressing community needs and higher education enrichment through service. more

The Fresno State/Stone Soup Hmong Refugee Resettlement effort was featured in this month's edition of CSU Impact. more

Marketing students 'Light the Night'
A service-learning project in Marketing 100(S) has resulted in a $27,361 donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. more

Clothes drive
Associated Students Inc. is spearheading a campus drive among student clubs and organizations to collect “gently used” clothes and other items for distribution by Stone Soup Hmong Refugee Resettlement Effort. more
