Armenian concert Dec. 5
Award-winning composer and musician Robert Amirkhanian will present a concert of his contemporary Armenian music, accompanied by vocalist Seda Amirkarayan Sargsyan, on Sunday, Dec. 5. Computer users are advised to beware of free Web services that advertise themselves as Internet connection speed accelerators or promise free prizes and raffles. Most "free" offers have hidden costs. In some cases these offers lure users into installing “parasite” software on their machines. more

Nursing Hall of Fame
The new Central San Joaquin Valley Nursing Hall of Fame, located at
Fresno State, was featured in an article in Nurse
Week magazine. A ceremony honoring the first two inductees, the
late Marilyn Hawkins of Fresno and Charlotte Brandt of Bakersfield,
was held at Fresno State last spring.
Final exam modifications
This year the university is piloting a modified final exam schedule. The new schedule consolidates final exams into four days. In the past, finals began at 6:30 a.m. on two days. Under the new schedule, finals begin at 6:30 a.m. on all four days. more
JDPEL Graduate Group
The Joint Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership (JDPEL) is in the process of adding faculty to the JDPEL Graduate Group. Eligible faculty include tenured and tenure-track faculty who have been involved in conducting research, teaching graduate courses, and directing student research at the graduate level. more
CREAD seeks participants
The Center for Research, Evaluation, Assessment and Dissemination (CREAD) is now beginning to recruit new participants for the third and final cohort for our certificate in program evaluation. This project is supported with grant funds awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). more
Asian-Pacific Conference
The Seventeenth Asian-Pacific Conference on International Accounting Issues will be held on Nov. 20-23, 2005, in Wellington, New Zealand.The conference will provide an important forum for the interaction of different ideas and information between academicians and practitioners, in order to enhance the understanding of international accounting issues in various Asian-Pacific countries. more
