Summer language studyFresno State is a member of the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) which offers study abroad programs to our students. Through this affiliation, a one-month summer study opportunity for professional development is open to our professional staff and faculty. Two development awards are available for summer 2005. One will be awarded to a professional staff applicant, another to a faculty applicant. The two applicants selected for this study opportunity will join undergraduate American students in classrooms overseas to study foreign language and other cultural subjects in summer. On returning to campus, the faculty and staff participants are expected to share their international knowledge with the community and be available to advise Fresno State students about study abroad. Applicants who would like to talk to past participants may contact: Steven Blumenshine (Biology), Henry Delcore (Anthropology), Marianne Jones (Child, Family and Consumer Science) Tammy Lau (Library), Sumer Ortiz (University Outreach), Peter Tannenbaum (Math) or Sally Tannenbaum (Communication). For questions about the application, contact Lucia Hammar, International Programs, 8-6452 or lhammar@csufresno.edu. |
