New Master CalendarThe university has purchased a new Event Scheduling software package. Included with the software is a web-based Master Calendar of events which is available at http://events.csufresno.edu. Currently the Master Calendar includes all events scheduled through the Scheduling, Student Life and Testing offices. It also includes some events that have been posted on the Bulletinboard listserv. The purpose of the Master Calendar and the event scheduling software is to provide a central location from which all campus events and rooms will be scheduled. We want to include all events that happen on campus. The initial phase of implementing the software is beginning with the Master Calendar feature. We will have two versions, one which will only be for the campus population. There will soon be a link from http://my.csufresno.edu to view this version. The general public will be able to view the Master Calendar from http://csufresno.edu site or by directly logging into http://events.csufresno.edu. This version will include events that the public community might be interested in. Along with rolling out the new Master Calendar, we have also revised our event and room request forms so that we can capture the necessary information for entry into this new system. The new forms can be found by clicking the "Submit a Request" link on the Master Calendar web site or on our Scheduling Office home page (http://www.csufresno.edu/scheduling). Click on the On-line Room Reservation Request There are now forms for requesting Administrative, Academic; Curricular; and Outside events. After we have scheduled the event, we will send you a confirmation notice by email. The next phase will take place over the next few months. This phase will involve training other offices on campus to use the new system for scheduling events. In the meantime, if the Scheduling Office does receive a request for an event that should be scheduled by a different department, we will forward this request to the appropriate department and work with those to get the event listed in the new system. Please note that this is not a replacement for Meeting Maker. Meeting Maker is a personal scheduling productivity tool for scheduling meetings with other individuals and for reserving certain locations for those meetings. The primary purpose of the new Event Scheduling software is used to reserve events for organizations or groups and to communicate this information to the campus. |
