An international seminar entitled “Advancing Knowledge of Psycho-Sexual Effects of FGM/C: Assessing the Evidence” brought together scholars from 10 countries in the social and medical sciences who are working against female genital cutting practices. more

LacyRandolph (Randy) Lacy

(Music) received the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) from the University of Houston (Texas) on Dec. 20. Lacy teaches voice and directs the Opera Workshop at Fresno State. more

Sergio Aguilar-Gaxiola

(Psychology) discussed Hispanic men and depression on the radio program "Prevenir es Salud,” heard in 23 cities nationwide, on Dec. 18. Aguilar-Gaxiola, a member of the Advisory Council for the NIH's National Institute of Mental Health, is expert on the subject. more
