Watch for ESPNU
There will be a new college sports initiative that will debut on March 4:   ESPNU. This multimedia college sports initiative will include a new 24-hour television network. Its sports-specific schedule will be announced at a later date. more

Time Out Club
The New Year kicks off with Time Out Club luncheons on Jan. 14 and 18.   Also, there will be luncheons on Feb. 1 and 15, and, finally, on March 1.   Lunch is served at 11:45 a.m. and the program begins at noon.   The cost is $8.50 for Time Out Club members and $10 for non-members. All luncheons and dinner meetings being held in the Residence Dining Facility.

Ride the Red Wave
Only two Bulldog Basketball Booster bus trips remain: Western Athletic Conference action caravans to Nevada, Friday to Sunday, Jan. 28-30; and to San Jose State, Thursday, March 3.   The Red Wave can make bus reservations at any of the Time Out Club luncheons, at home game or by contacting Tim Schiller at 225-3164. more

Wallace Award Watch List
All-America sophomore infielder Christian Vitters has been named to the 2005 Wallace Award Watch List, which is given annually to the nation's top collegiate baseball player. more

Book drive successful
In conjunction with One by One Leadership, Fresno State student-athletes collected 1,170 children's book in a one month span for the inaugural ReadFresno Drive. more

KMPH Bulldog Sports Report
The Bulldog Sports Report airs live on KMPH radio (107.5 FM) every Saturday from 11 a.m. until noon.   This one-hour show, which started last March, is designed to promote and educate people about Bulldog Athletics. more

One of the most popular attractions at www.gobulldogs.com  has received a sponsor in Toyota, which has signed on to sponsor the gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week. more

Bid for the Bulldogs
It's not too early to start thinking about the Bid for the Bulldogs, an annual summer event to raise monies for the Fresno State Athletics Department.   With outstanding items and events ready to bid on, the Bid for the Bulldogs has been a fan favorite.   Those who wish to donate items may do so by calling the Marketing Office at   244-2800.

Cabrera assists with strength
Moses Cabrera is in his first season as interim assistant strength coach at Fresno State.
He previously spent a year-and-a-half at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. more

New in Hall of Fame
Congratulations to alum Jim Santos (1962) who was inducted into the USTCA Hall of Fame last month. He has been hailed as one of American's most influential driving forces in track and field at the high school, collegiate and Olympic level for the last 30 years. more

Celebrity bell ringers
Those weren't Santa's elves standing outside of Fig Garden's Gottschalks ringing bells last month but Fresno State student-athletes and coaches who were celebrity bell ringers for the Salvation Army.   Taking time out during finals week, the Bulldogs rung bells out in the cold for one of the oldest charities in the United States.

Grand Opening
The Ricchiuti Academic Center and expansion of the Duncan Building, adjacent to the current strength and conditioning center, is scheduled for its Grand Opening this month. more

Baseball alumni game
Fresno State will host its baseball alumni game on Saturday, Jan. 22 at noon at Beiden Field.   The 2005 Bulldogs will square off against their alumni, with an old-timers game to follow.

NCAA Championships
For the first time in school history, Fresno State has been selected to host the 2004-05 first and second round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship games, March 19 and 21, at the Save Mart Center. more

Baseball/Softball dinners
While the calendar may say January and Mother Nature is showcasing winter weather, two spring sports will kick off their upcoming season with annual dinners. more
