Lorenz Keyboard ConcertThe Philip Lorenz Memorial Keyboard Concerts will present pianist Andreas Haefliger playing works by Beethoven, Bartok and Brahams on Friday, Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. in the Concert Hall at Fresno State. On Saturday, the Keyboard Concerts and The Music Teachers Association of California, Fresno Branch, will co-host a lecture by Haefliger entitled, “Beethoven Perspectives.” It will be held at 10 a.m. in the Wahlberg Recital Hall in the Music Building at Fresno State. Son of the great tenor Ernst Haefliger, the Swiss pianist has secured for himself international status of the highest order as a leading soloist with orchestra, recitalist, chamber musician, and recording artist. Recognized worldwide as a major authority on Beethoven, he continues the complete cycle of Beethoven’s 32 Sonatas combined with other composers. Tickets for the Feb. 25 concert are $12.50 general, $7 seniors and $5 students. For ticket reservations and other information, please call 278-2337. Admission to the lecture is free. |
