New gift guidelines

Provost Jeri Echeverria and Vice President for University Advancement Peter N. Smits have announced that a new document, “Guidelines on the Administration of Gifts, Sponsored Support, and Other Resources Acquired Through External Relationship,” has been developed.

The creation of the guidelines has involved many individuals from many departments.

In the document is the new name for what has been known as the University Grants and Research Office. The former “UGRO” will now be known as the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.

The guidelines, online at http://www.fresnostatenews.com/ORSPguides/ , acknowledge that certain funds from external sources may straddle the categories. In such cases, the provost will consult with affected areas and make the final determination.
