Maddy intern deadline

The Maddy Institute is accepting applications for its scholarship intern program for students who are interested in civic engagement.

The deadline has been extended until Feb. 4 for up to 20 students who would like to work with a federal or state legislator in Washington, D.C., and Sacramento during the summer of 2005. Students can also choose to work with local constituents in Fresno during the spring and summer months.

Scholarships range from $1,000 for students who stay in Fresno to $5,000 for those who travel to Washington, D.C.

Students who are interested should visit the Web site www.maddyinstitute.org for more information and an application. For questions, contact Mark Keppler, executive director of the Maddy Institute at 8-0808 or mkeppler@csufresno.edu.
