Tommy Miller
(Mass Communication and Journalism) wrote an article for the winter edition of APME News. The article, called "The Return of the Never Dreamed Story," focused on cliche first paragraphs in news and news-feature stories. The article also included a Top 10 list of various forms of "Never Dreamed" leads that Miller and his former journalism teacher, David McHam of the University of Houston, have collected throughout the years. The APME News is a quarterly magazine of the Associated Press Managing Editors, a national organization of about 350 editors from daily newspapers. Miller, a former managing editor of the Houston Chronicle, is the Roger Tatarian Chair for professional journalism.
