Ghana Travel Study Program
“Ghana: The Land of Our Ancestors” is scheduled for July 6 – 20, 2005 and will offer three units of academic credit in AAIS 130T. The study tour examines the complex interrelatedness of the peoples of Africa, Europe, and the Americas through the trans-Atlantic slave trade, slavery, and colonialism. A special focus will be on contemporary images and representations of the African American cultural history in Ghana, utilizing the W.E.B. DuBois Memorial Center for Pan African Culture, the West African Heritage Museum, and other cultural forums. The fee for the travel study program is $3,595 per person and a limited number of scholarships are available for matriculated Fresno State students. Dr. Oheneba-Sakyi has scheduled two informational sessions for the program, on Feb. 23 and March 11. Both sessions take place in Education 140, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. For more information, contact Dr. Oheneba-Sakyi at 8-4423 or e-mail yoheneba@csufresno.edu. |
