Ambassador visits campus
U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Evans visited Fresno State Feb. 18 to learn about Fresno State’s various programs and exchanges in Armenia and meet faculty and staff who have participated in them. more

TII update
Work in the project’s pilot building, Family Food Science (FFS) is back on schedule after abatement work for asbestos containing materials (ACM) in the ceiling of the first floor was done. Work to install new cable in FFS has resumed, and completion of interior cabling is anticipated within the next few weeks. more

Five campuses of the California State University system held a forum with agricultural leaders throughout the state on Feb. 4 at Fresno State to discuss the CSU’s essential role in agricultural research and education. more
Internal auditor named
Dr. Welty has appointed Mathew Babick as Fresno State’s new internal auditor, effective Feb. 28, 2005. more

Cousteau to speak
Jean-Michel Cousteau, famed oceanographer, explorer, filmmaker and son of the legendary Jacques Cousteau, wil l be featured Thursday, March 10, in the University Lecture Series. more
‘Top Dog’ nominations
The Fresno State Alumni Association is seeking nominations for the 2005 Top Dog Alumni Awards to be presented this fall to alumni and friends of the university. more
WAC Academic Alliance
The Western Athletic Conference represents 10 universities distributed among seven states. The desire to utilize the athletic base to develop an Academic Alliance, one that would build upon the vast array of capabilities resident in these universities, has resulted in the convening of the WAC Academic Alliance. more

Museum opens
A ribbon-cutting ceremony on Feb. 24 officially opened the new Downing Planetarium Museum, adjacent to the Downing Planetarium. Donors Tom and Cynthia Downing joined President John Welty and Science and Math Dean Kin-Ping Wong in cutting the red ribbon at the entrance. more
