Digital Campus director

Provost Jeri Echeverria has named Dr. Brent Auernheimer the director of Digital Campus.

Brent stepped in as interim director of Digital Campus in May 2003.  He has lead the expansion of Digital Campus to its current status, with approximately 650 faculty and 17,000 students participating this semester.

Auernheimer’s scholarly expertise is in software engineering, human-computer interactions and Web-based education.  He has taught innovative Web-based courses at our campus and at the University of Hawaii, has published 17 articles on Web-based instruction, and has been directing the Title V funded Fast Forward program for preparing underrepresented rural high school seniors for the ELM and EPT exams.

In addition, he has received a total of five summer research fellowships from the Associated Western Universities (AWU) and the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) for research at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Kennedy Space Center.

He was also co-founder of Oak Grove Systems, Inc., a company founded to commercialize workflow software developed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
