Timothy M. Stearns

(Coleman Foundation chair, Entrepreneurial Studies and director, Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship) has been elected to the board of the United States Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship. As an officer of USASBE, he will assume the position of vice president of research for the next two years. He will be responsible for encouraging, accepting and approving research activity with USASBE, establishing and maintaining a standard of high quality research, and periodically reviewing and reporting on the quality and impact of the research product through USASBE activities. The mission of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship is to advance knowledge and foster business development through entrepreneurship education and research. The professional association has more than 1,000 members. Stearns assumed his new position at the 19th National Conference held in Indian Wells, Jan.13-16.
