USA Softball Team of the Year

softballThe United States Olympic Committee announced last month that the USA Softball Women's Olympic Team as its 2004 “Team of the Year.”

A first-time award for USA Softball, the women dominated the Olympic Games with their 9-0 record.  Capturing a third straight Olympic gold medal, the squad broke 18 Olympic records in Athens while outscoring its opponents 5-1, batting .343, tossing 55.2 scoreless innings and posting an ERA of 0.12. 

The Bulldog softball program showcased three softball Olympians in Athens as Laura Berg, Vanessa Czarnecki and Lovie Jung represented the United States.
