Pérez heads to South Africa

Health science professor Miguel A. Pérez will be heading to South Africa this month to lend a hand with AIDS education and prevention.

Pérez has been selected for a Fulbright Senior Specialists Scholar Grant in public/global health at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa. more

Library design approved

Trustees of the California State University system approved the conceptual design of the new Fresno State’s Henry Madden Library at their meeting in March 16. The approval allows Fresno State to move forward with construction drawings for the library, which is scheduled to open in 2008. more

Three deans named

Three new deans have been named to lead the Craig School of Business, the College of Arts and Humanities and the College of Social Sciences. The announcements came from Provost Jeri Echeverria.

Two of the deans, Dr. Luz Gonzalez and Dr. Vida Samiian, have been serving in interim capacities in their respective colleges. The third, Dr. Douglas A. Hensler, comes to Fresno State from the University of Colorado in Boulder. more
