Ag One
The Ag One Foundation will recognize Virgil E. Rasmussen at the Ag One Community Salute awards dinner on April 8. Rasmussen, head of Ballantine Produce Co., will be honored for his long and devoted service to California agriculture and his lifelong dedication to the community. more

Goodbye, San Ramons
Two of the San Ramon "temporary" buildings were demolished in February, and the final one, San Ramon 6, will be razed when the Psychology/Human Services Building remodel is complete.

Alumni news
The Fresno State Alumni Association won two Awards for Excellence in Public Relations at the Fifth Annual Central California IMAGE AWARDS, hosted by the Public Relations Society of America, Central California Chapter. more

Bookstore sale
Kennel Bookstore will hold its Anniversary Sale on April 13 to 16. The sale includes 20 percent off all clothing, imprinted gifts, gifts and general books. more

SnowFest 2005
The annual SnowFest celebration was held Feb. 26 at Sierra Summit. Fresno State employees, families and friends enjoyed a day of skiing, snowboarding and playing in the snow.

Cognitive Science series
The Cognitive Science Speaker Series continues through April and the beginning of May. On April 6, Dr. David Beisecker of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas spoke on “Consciousness and Emotion.” Beisecker is the author of numerous publications in philosophy and cognitive science in such journals as Philosophy and Mind and Language. more

Equity Fellowship
California Graduate Equity Fellowships with grants up to $4,500 are available for underrepresented graduate students who qualify.  This program seeks to increase the diversity of students completing a graduate degree program at Fresno State and encourages continuation on to doctoral programs and consideration of university faculty careers. more

Fee waiver
Staff and faculty who plan to use their CSU, Fee Waiver benefit for the Fall 2005 semester, must submit their Fee Waiver Application: Application for Faculty/Staff Waiver of Fees or Transfer of Represented or Non-Represented Employee Fee Waiver to Spouse, Domestic Partner or Dependent Child* to Employment and Benefit Services by May 6, 2005. more

Gerontology symposium
The Fourth Annual Gerontology Symposium, Silver Images Film Festival and Student Poster Presentations will be held April 18 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Satellite Student Union.  Admission is free. The event is sponsored by the Student Association Gerontology Education (SAGE) and Fresno Learning Activities in Retirement (FLAIR). more

Graduate/postbaccalaureate applications
The application deadline for the fall 2005 semester has been extended to May 1, 2005, for applicants to graduate, credential, and advanced certificate programs.  Students who meet this deadline will be given until May 15 to submit all documents and required test scores. more

President’s Graduate Scholars Fellowship
Nominations are being sought for two President’s Graduate Scholars Fellowships.  These $3,500 fellowships are available to first-semester master’s degree or Ed.D. students for 2005-06. more

Health Fair April 20
The annual Health Fair will be held on April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Residence Dining Hall. This annual event is an opportunity for participants to learn more about topics related to improving health.  There is no charge to attend. more

New wheels
President Welty checks out one of the two carts donated to the university by Gary McDonald Homes. One of the carts is assigned to Thomas Administration and the other is assigned to the Smittcamp Alumni House.

Health Policy Research Fellowship
Applications must be received by April 25 for Interdisciplinary Health Policy Research Fellows, offered by the Central Valley Health Policy Institute (CVHPI) at Fresno State. more

New grant awards
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs announced 10 new grant awards received Feb. 22-28 totaling $1,167,505. more

Parking permits
The Office of Parking and Transportation is in the process of exchanging all PR12 and PR10 parking permits for employees who pay for parking through payroll deduction. more 

Rotary scholarships
The Rotary Club of Fresno invites applications for the 2006-07 Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship Award. The application forms are now available for Fresno State students with a desire to study abroad.The application deadline is April 15. more

Senior Experience
Academic Enhancement Services has announced the completion of the Senior Experience Web site and the Bulldog B.A.R.K.: A Guide for Seniors handbook. The Senior Experience Web site targets students who have completed 90 or more units. more
