President Welty has named Fresno health care administrator Corwin N. Harper to the University Advisory Board, a panel of community members who provide the president advice regarding the improvement and development of the university.

Harper is the senior vice president/area manager for Kaiser Foundation Hospital and Health Plan, Inc., in Fresno.  In this role, he strategically leads in partnership with the leadership of The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. a 190+ physician multi-specialty medical group and a 145-bed hospital to provide comprehensive healthcare to more than 120,000 members of the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., in Central California.

His career spans 18 years of health care administration in Fresno and Chicago and various medical leadership positions with the U.S. Army.

Harper holds a bachelor of science degree in biology from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Baylor University.

Other members of the President’s Advisory Board are Hugo Morales, chair; Jim Anton, vice-chair, and members Elaine Bernard, John Boogaert, Julia Brown, Dr. Katherine Flores,    J. Michael McGowan, Michael Patton, James Shekoyan, Julie Tone and Kirk De Verteuil.
